"Dunham's da man"
"Happy Birthday, Ms. Ty! This world is a better place because you are in it! Thank you for sharing your light with our community!"
For over 12 years, JSA has worked in partnership with parents and professionals in the community to be a leader in providing INTEGRATIVE services through education and therapies for children with AUTISM. Our daily goal is to empower our students to grow and learn on their individual path for independence. Life span services are critical to support our aging population of young adults and secure their future is full of HOPE and INDEPENDENCE.
In 2005, when JSA's Executive Director founded the school for her son Nicholas, 1 in 160 children were diagnosed with autism. Today, almost 1 in 50 children are diagnosed with autism. Fast forward to 2030 and it is projected that 1 in 2 boys will be diagnosed with autism. These numbers are STAGGERING. As the diagnoses continue to increase, JSA will strive to continue being a beacon of hope for the growing Northeast Florida autism community.
To meet the needs of these growing numbers, we need to develop a comprehensive Life Span Campus that will allow for the expansion of services and programs to meet the needs of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The ACRES (Autism Center for Residential & Educational Services) Project would offer the following integrative and life-span services:
The most urgent need for our ACRES Project is to secure a land donation of 20-30 acres that will provide interstate access to support our families in 6 counties across Northeast Florida.
